Overview
We are seeking a contract Golang Software Engineer to join a fully remote team for an initial 6-month project. The ideal candidate will have strong backend engineering skills and will be responsible for building scalable APIs and microservices, as well as enhancing frontend functionality using React and TypeScript. This role requires the ability to effectively understand and contribute to an existing codebase while working independently in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices using Go.
- Build and enhance frontend functionality using React and TypeScript.
- Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate testing and documentation.
- Investigate issues and improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Communicate progress, technical decisions, and blockers clearly through asynchronous updates.
- Work with Rust where required, with a willingness to learn if your experience is limited.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing backend applications in Go.
- Experience building scalable APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar codebases and deliver effectively as a contractor.
- Clear written communication and strong technical documentation habits.
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating within a fully remote team.
- Some exposure to Rust, or an interest in learning and using it is desirable.
