Overview
We are seeking an experienced React Native Developer for a fully remote contract position focused on the development of a mobile application. This role requires a hands-on developer with a strong background in React Native, Expo, and TypeScript, who will work to enhance both iOS and Android apps, particularly in implementing dependable offline functionality and robust data synchronization. The initial contract is for three months with potential for extension based on project demands.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain React Native features for iOS and Android, utilizing Expo and TypeScript.
- Implement local data storage and offline workflows to ensure continued user access during network unavailability.
- Build effective synchronization processes that handle request queuing and retry logic.
- Work with API contracts and application state for accurate data exchange between devices and services.
- Manage strategies for handling duplicate requests and conflicting data changes to maintain data integrity.
- Utilize data-fetching and state management tools, verifying offline and online functionalities.
- Prepare and publish releases for both major mobile platforms while ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Professional mobile development experience using React Native.
- Hands-on experience with Expo for building and shipping applications.
- Strong TypeScript skills, including the ability to define and maintain data types.
- Experience developing offline-capable or offline-first mobile applications.
- Knowledge of on-device databases or storage solutions such as expo-sqlite or Realm.
- Understanding of request queues, retry strategies, and background data synchronization.
- Familiarity with data-fetching and state-management tools like Redux Toolkit or Zustand.
- Experience publishing applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play is required.
