Overview
The role of Staff Full Stack Engineer (Contract) focuses on developing and optimizing scalable backend services while also enhancing modern frontend applications. Working within a highly skilled and product-focused engineering team, the contractor will utilize their expertise in Rust and Java, complemented by experience in React and Python, to influence key architectural decisions and deliver impactful software solutions. Responsibilities
- Design and optimize scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build and maintain high-performance, reliable customer-facing applications with React.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and integrations leveraging Python.
- Take ownership of complex features from design to production.
- Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to deliver impactful functionality.
- Influence engineering standards and architectural decisions across the platform.
- Apply best practices in performance, reliability, and security.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools for engineering tasks.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack / Backend Engineer.
- Strong backend engineering skills with Rust and/or Java.
- Solid understanding of concurrent programming and distributed systems.
- Commercial experience developing frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on experience with Python and related backend services.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native development.
- Experience designing and maintaining production-grade systems.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools.
