Overview
The Front End Developer will play a vital role in the development of a new digital platform, engaging in a greenfield digital transformation project. This contractor will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, quality assurance professionals, and integration specialists to create high-quality user-facing elements using Blazor WebAssembly. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence the development practices and user experience of the platform from its early stages while working in a hybrid environment in the Midlands.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain modern web applications using Blazor WebAssembly.
- Build intuitive, responsive and scalable interfaces, and create reusable components that support consistency and ongoing development.
- Translate product requirements and technical specifications into clear, high-quality frontend functionality.
- Collaborate with backend and integration engineers to deliver seamless end-to-end features, including effective communication between the frontend, APIs and services.
- Apply sound development practices to help ensure that solutions are secure, maintainable and performant.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, team planning and delivery discussions, and contribute to continuous improvement of the team’s frontend approach.
- Review and validate AI-generated code, refine it to meet project specifications, and maintain appropriate quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing web applications with Blazor WebAssembly.
- Solid knowledge of C# and .NET.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript for creating responsive user interfaces.
- Experience connecting frontend applications to APIs and backend services.
- Background in developing enterprise-scale applications with an understanding of secure, maintainable coding practices.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Claude, Codex or GitHub Copilot is beneficial.
- Ability to review, test and refine code effectively with a strong focus on quality standards.
