Overview
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team focused on developing cloud-native solutions and improving deployment processes in a secure environment. The role involves collaborating with developers and stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, automated infrastructures while championing best practices in the software delivery lifecycle. The position is predominantly remote with a requirement for one on-site day per month in Romsey.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and support AWS-based infrastructure and platform services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and Packer.
- Build, optimise and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement and support GitOps deployment methodologies using ArgoCD.
- Administer and support Rancher-managed Kubernetes environments.
- Manage artefact repositories and release workflows using JFrog Artifactory.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Terraform and Packer for Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and GitOps methodologies.
- Proficient in Python for automation and tooling development.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Active and transferable SC Clearance required at application time.
- Understanding of engineering best practices and release management processes.
