Overview
We are looking for a Senior Azure Solutions Architect to take a pivotal role in a high-profile technology programme within the Defence and Public Sector. This hands-on position requires a technical leader capable of offering architectural guidance, navigating delivery challenges, and collaborating effectively with multiple suppliers to deliver secure and scalable cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will blend strategic oversight with practical delivery, enhancing a complex Azure-based environment while ensuring alignment with governance and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end solution architecture leadership.
- Establish and govern technical design standards.
- Support programme recovery and delivery improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure architectural consistency and technical alignment.
- Identify and eliminate delivery blockers.
- Advise engineering teams on best practices for cloud architecture and deployment.
- Oversee the delivery of secure, cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Act as a trusted technical authority across multiple workstreams.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Microsoft Azure enterprise solution architecture.
- Proficiency in cloud-native application and platform design.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Understanding of API architecture, integration patterns, and microservices.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Azure networking, security, and governance.
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex, multi-supplier delivery environments.
