Overview
The Platform Architect will lead the architecture strategy for a major UK infrastructure programme, focusing on Salesforce integration within a complex enterprise context. Working predominantly remotely with occasional on-site collaboration, this role will engage closely with senior stakeholders, architecture teams, and delivery partners to shape and assure the overall platform architecture and ensure operational sustainability long after the programme concludes.
Responsibilities
- Define target platform architectures aligned with enterprise standards and programme objectives.
- Own end-to-end solution architecture process, from technology selection to detailed design.
- Establish integration, data, and security architecture patterns across platforms.
- Review and assure technical designs from internal teams and external suppliers.
- Present architecture decisions and trade-offs to design authorities and governance forums.
- Plan and manage architectural transitions and operational handovers.
- Lead knowledge transfer to ensure sustainable internal support for platforms.
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders and delivery partners to facilitate collaboration.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Senior Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Platform Architect on large programmes.
- Strong Salesforce platform and integration architecture experience.
- Broad platform architecture experience across SaaS solutions and cloud technologies, notably Azure and AWS.
- Competence in solution architecture, integration design, and enterprise architecture alignment.
- Experience working with design authorities and senior programme stakeholders.
- Ability to review and challenge technical designs across various suppliers and teams.
- Experience in planning migrations and operational transitions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in conveying complex technical concepts.
