Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect for an initial 3-month remote contract to support a central government client in enhancing the architecture of a national surveillance system. The role involves collaborating with Product Managers, Delivery Leads, and Engineering teams to analyze the existing architecture and provide recommendations aimed at improving resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical public health services through technical consultation and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Review existing system architecture and identify technical dependencies and risks.
- Identify opportunities for technical rationalisation and cloud cost optimisation.
- Provide technical assurance and input into prioritisation of backlog items.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technical planning and sequencing.
- Facilitate the transition of the surveillance system into a sustainable operating model with clear documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect, preferably in central government or regulated environments.
- Strong background in reviewing architectures and identifying technical debt.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, specifically Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience in technical governance and risk management.
- Ability to translate complex technical findings into actionable recommendations and plans.
- Willingness to undergo a basic level of security clearance.
