Overview
The Head of Artificial Intelligence will play a critical role in leading an AI function within a dynamic energy trading organization embarking on an aggressive AI adoption strategy. This position involves defining the AI development direction, shaping the team, and remaining hands-on with technical implementations, ensuring that innovative AI solutions are effectively translated from concepts to practical applications in various business areas such as Trading, Operations, and Legal.
Responsibilities
- Define the strategic direction for AI initiatives across the enterprise.
- Lead the existing AI team while mentoring and guiding future hires.
- Develop and demonstrate proofs of concept (POCs) that showcase potential AI applications.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and implement AI use cases that deliver real value.
- Ensure that AI solutions comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Integrate AI technologies with existing business systems and workflows.
- Oversee the development of production-grade enterprise solutions based on AI.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in AI engineering within an enterprise setting.
- Strong hands-on engineering skills with practical implementation experience.
- Proven track record of bringing AI ideas from POCs to production.
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and autonomous AI agents.
- Experience in integrating AI with enterprise data and business processes.
- Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of AI governance, data security, and compliance frameworks.
- Prior experience in the energy trading or commodities sector is highly preferred.
