Overview
The Head of Artificial Intelligence will lead the establishment and execution of AI initiatives within an energy trading firm embarking on a comprehensive AI transformation. This strategic role requires a senior professional who is both technically adept and hands-on, responsible for defining the AI strategy, guiding a team of engineers, and collaborating directly with various business units to implement impactful AI solutions. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in AI delivery, particularly in regulated environments, and will be instrumental in translating innovative AI ideas into practical applications that add real business value.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the AI strategy for the enterprise.
- Lead the development of AI prototypes, POCs, and production-grade solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize AI use cases.
- Guide and mentor existing and future AI engineering staff.
- Ensure AI implementations align with compliance and governance standards.
- Communicate AI concepts and solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
- Build and shape a dedicated AI engineering team.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in senior AI engineering roles within enterprise settings.
- Strong hands-on capability in AI and machine learning technologies.
- Proven track record of bringing AI ideas from conception through POCs to production.
- Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, and autonomous AI agents.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI solutions with enterprise data systems.
- In-depth knowledge of AI governance, security, and compliance regulations.
- Prior experience within energy trading, commodities, or similar trading environments is highly desirable.
