Information Technology Project Manager

Overview

The Information Technology Project Manager will lead a significant data centre transition programme for the Ministry of Justice, coordinating the delivery plan and ensuring alignment among multiple suppliers. Working in a remote capacity with some travel to Leatherhead, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Senior Transition Lead to navigate the complexities of testing and cutover while directly influencing the project's success.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the detailed plan across interlinked projects, including critical paths and dependencies.
  • Drive engagement with third-party suppliers and build strong relationships with their Project Managers.
  • Coordinate complex multi-party systems testing and cutover during the service transition.
  • Support demobilisation and customer exit activities as services transition.
  • Lead daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and checkpoints, ensuring effective use of Kanban boards.
  • Manage the RAID log and oversee the project change process, assessing impacts on the plan.
  • Produce internal progress reports and contribute to client-facing reporting.
  • Assist in preparing and running Quality Gateway assessments and governance meetings.

Requirements

  • Proven IT background with exposure to data centre moves or service transitions.
  • Practitioner-level project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, PMI).
  • Experience managing large and complex projects with multiple critical paths.
  • Knowledge of both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience managing multiple projects within a programme context.
  • Supply-side project management experience with external suppliers.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with non-technical public sector clients.
  • Proficient in Smartsheet and/or MS Project, with solid skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
