Overview
We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to support a crucial migration project on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in transitioning a critical business application from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, working closely with the Lead Technical Architect to ensure a secure and resilient cloud environment. This position offers an opportunity to utilize technical expertise in a high-impact project while collaborating with industry professionals.
Responsibilities
- Support discovery, technical assessment, and detailed migration planning activities.
- Build and configure Azure infrastructure, including compute, storage, and network components.
- Implement security controls, identity management, and operational services to ensure a secure environment.
- Manage migration activities, including cutover planning, execution, and rollback procedures.
- Conduct resilience, backup, and disaster recovery testing to validate system robustness.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and migration challenges promptly.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and operational handover materials for ongoing support.
- Collaborate closely with architects, Microsoft teams, and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Azure cloud migration projects.
- Strong understanding of Azure Infrastructure components such as compute, storage, and landing zones.
- Experience with Azure Networking and Hybrid Connectivity solutions.
- Knowledge of Entra ID / Identity & Access Management (IAM).
- Familiarity with Azure Security best practices and tools.
- Experience with Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategies.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
