Overview
We are seeking a Senior Platform & Test Engineer with expertise in DevSecOps and Performance to join a technical team dedicated to a UK public-sector R&D programme focused on AI cybersecurity and operational assurance. This role involves developing infrastructure for secure development environments and automated test capabilities, in collaboration with software engineers and security testers. The engineer will play a crucial role in measuring the performance, resilience, and security of AI agents under real-world conditions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain reproducible development, test and evaluation environments.
- Own CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and infrastructure as code.
- Establish reliable containerised build and deployment processes.
- Implement secure development practices and software supply-chain controls.
- Develop automated performance, load, and scale-testing capabilities.
- Instrument and measure software behaviour for performance and resilience testing.
- Support fault injection and recovery testing in multi-agent environments.
- Produce deployment documentation and release artefacts for operational trials.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevSecOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Proficiency in designing and maintaining CI/CD environments.
- Expertise in containerization and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Good understanding of Linux systems and cloud platform engineering, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience in automating test environments and deployments securely.
- Knowledge of performance, load, and resilience testing frameworks.
- Ability to instrument systems for detailed analysis of software behaviour.
- Familiarity with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and software composition analysis.
