Overview
We are looking for a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to join our client's team on a contract basis, focusing on the migration of a critical business application to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Lead Technical Architect to design and implement a secure, resilient, and efficient Azure environment while working remotely with occasional meetings in London. This role presents an exciting opportunity to partake in a high-stakes cloud migration project that emphasizes minimal disruption and maximum security for essential systems.
Responsibilities
- Support discovery, technical assessment, and migration planning activities for the cloud transition.
- Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure, ensuring security and compliance.
- Implement identity management solutions, monitoring tools, and operational services.
- Lead migration activities, including cutover planning and execution.
- Conduct resilience, backup, and disaster recovery testing.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and migration issues to ensure project continuity.
- Produce technical documentation and operational procedures for ongoing support.
- Collaborate with architects, Microsoft teams, and third-party vendors during the project.
Requirements
- Proven experience in migrating applications and infrastructure to Azure.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure services, including compute, storage, and networking.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator.
- Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of DevOps practices.
- Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
