Linux Test Development Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Linux Test Development Engineer to join an established international engineering team focused on the validation and test development of advanced embedded Linux platforms for a leading semiconductor client. This fully remote role is suitable for engineers who have a strong foundation in Linux and embedded systems, enjoy developing robust automated tests, and are adept at collaborating with both software and hardware teams to resolve complex systems issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated Linux test solutions for embedded semiconductor platforms.
  • Write test and automation code using Python, Bash, and C.
  • Create, execute, and troubleshoot tests across embedded Linux platforms.
  • Investigate failures at the system, kernel, driver, and hardware interface levels.
  • Integrate and test Linux, U-Boot, and TF-A changes within Yocto-based BSPs.
  • Analyze test failures and work closely with development engineers to identify root causes.
  • Contribute to improving test coverage, reliability, and automation across the platform.
  • Collaborate with an experienced international engineering team on leading-edge technology.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Linux test development and embedded systems validation.
  • Commercial experience developing Linux test frameworks, test automation, or system-level validation.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash programming.
  • Solid understanding of Embedded Linux and Linux BSPs.
  • Experience with YAML and developing automated tests.
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI or similar CI/CD environments.
  • Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and troubleshoot across software and hardware.
  • Experience with U-Boot configuration and Linux kernel customization is desirable.
