Overview
The Senior Full Stack Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the development and delivery of modern, scalable applications within a highly regulated enterprise environment. This contract position emphasizes hands-on engineering, focusing on both backend and frontend development while leveraging AI-assisted tools like Claude Code. The role is primarily remote but may require occasional attendance in London for team collaboration and meetings.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Develop scalable REST APIs, including asynchronous workflows and middleware.
- Manage database structures and optimize queries using PostgreSQL.
- Support frontend development with React and TypeScript.
- Implement secure authentication and access controls such as SSO and JWT.
- Write automated tests to ensure high code quality.
- Utilize Claude Code for development acceleration and code validation.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders to deliver secure and maintainable solutions.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Python and FastAPI.
- Hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL and Pydantic.
- Familiarity with React and TypeScript.
- Experience with authentication and secure API integrations.
- Knowledge of automated testing with pytest and JavaScript frameworks.
- Understanding of Git, GitHub workflows, and CI processes.
- Practical experience with Claude Code in software development.
- Ability to review and enhance AI-generated code responsibly.
