Azure Cloud Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to join a dynamic team on a contractual basis, focused on migrating critical business applications from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Lead Technical Architect to design, build, test, and support Azure infrastructure, ensuring a secure and efficient platform. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant digital transformation project, leveraging expertise in cloud migration and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

  • Support the discovery phase by conducting technical assessments and developing migration plans for Azure transition.
  • Build, configure, and optimize Azure infrastructure components, adhering to best practices and security standards.
  • Implement identity management solutions and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and security of the cloud environment.
  • Lead migration activities, including planning, execution, and rollback procedures to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct resilience testing, backup validation, and disaster recovery drills to guarantee business continuity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and migration issues, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation and operational procedures for ongoing support.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, Microsoft teams, and third-party vendors to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Strong background in cloud migration and Azure services, with relevant certifications highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in deploying and managing Azure infrastructure, networking, and security.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep is required.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices, monitoring, logging, and operational support in regulated environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
