Overview
The Technical Project Manager will join a global consumer technology company to oversee new product development projects from concept through to launch. This role involves collaborating closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, manage schedules, and communicate key updates to stakeholders. The successful candidate will take the lead on project direction and decisions, driving best-in-class products to market while maintaining visibility and managing budgets.
Responsibilities
- Manage new product development projects through the full lifecycle, from initial concept to launch.
- Keep global teams aligned regarding project direction, key decisions, and deliverables.
- Own and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and retailer requirements are satisfied.
- Monitor project status, risks, issues, and dependencies, communicating these clearly to stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineering and design teams to translate complex technical challenges for non-technical audiences.
- Present project updates, risks, and key decisions to senior stakeholders and executive teams regularly.
- Manage project budgets, keeping track of financial performance.
- Utilize project management tools to maintain visibility of progress, issues, and actions.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in project management or an engineering/project environment.
- Strong experience managing projects through the entire product lifecycle.
- An engineering background with the ability to understand and communicate technical information.
- Experience with consumer products, household appliances, plastics, or physical products is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Jira for issue tracking and project management.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and limitations.
- Experience managing project budgets is advantageous.
