Overview
The IT Service Transition Manager will oversee the client-side coordination of a significant technology transition within a large consumer-facing organization. Working in a hybrid capacity, this role requires collaboration with internal technology teams, an incoming Managed Service Provider (MSP), and various third-party suppliers to ensure a smooth transition to the new operating model. The primary focus will be on maintaining alignment across multiple technical workstreams while managing risks and dependencies throughout the transition process.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the overall service transition plan, milestones, and dependencies.
- Act as a key client-side contact across internal teams, the incoming MSP, incumbent provider, and third-party suppliers.
- Support discovery and validation of the existing technology environment.
- Coordinate migration and transition activity across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and end-user services.
- Track and manage programme risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating when required.
- Provide clear and regular transition reporting to programme leadership and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer, documentation, and access handovers between providers.
- Support service readiness, testing, cutover planning, and Early Life Support.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT service transition or technology transformation.
- Familiarity with MSP transitions, outsourcing changes, or supplier migrations.
- Strong coordination skills across multiple technical workstreams and external suppliers.
- Good understanding of infrastructure, networking, cloud, and IT service management.
- Demonstrated experience in risk, issue, and dependency management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of ITIL and service transition principles.
- Project or programme management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or MSP are advantageous.
