Overview
We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineer to participate in a greenfield Defence programme aimed at designing and building a secure infrastructure environment. This hands-on role involves collaborating within a multidisciplinary engineering team and focuses on creating advanced solutions across Windows and Linux infrastructures, implementing security controls, and managing technology integrations. The position allows for hybrid working, with a requirement to be onsite approximately once a week.
Responsibilities
- Design and build secure infrastructure within a greenfield environment.
- Work across Windows Server 2022/2025, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows 11, alongside some Linux/Ubuntu.
- Configure and harden Microsoft infrastructure and virtualization solutions, including Hyper-V.
- Implement infrastructure security controls and Secure by Design principles.
- Work with networking and security components, including firewalls and identity/access controls.
- Support SIEM, centralized logging, monitoring, and observability tools, potentially including Splunk.
- Support vulnerability management, remediation, and technical assurance.
- Produce technical designs, build documentation, and configuration baselines.
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance is required for this role.
- Strong experience in Windows infrastructure engineering.
- Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Proven experience with Microsoft virtualization technologies, preferably Hyper-V.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Ubuntu systems.
- Experience in building infrastructure environments from the ground up.
- Strong skills in security hardening and knowledge of SIEM, logging, and monitoring with experience in Splunk being beneficial.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management and security compliance frameworks.
