Overview
The IT Service Recovery Plan Consultant will play a critical role in a major telecommunications environment by developing and implementing technical recovery plans for a complex on-premise IT infrastructure consisting of 260 service groups. The consultant will collaborate closely with service owners and subject matter experts to gather system recovery details, ensuring comprehensive and testable plans are created. This position requires a hands-on approach and effective communication with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead workshops with service owners and SMEs to define system rebuild processes.
- Transform workshop discussions into structured, testable recovery plans.
- Document recovery time objectives (RTO), recovery point objectives (RPO), and other critical details.
- Create reusable templates for recovery plans to optimize project delivery.
- Coordinate with engineering and business continuity management stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience in disaster recovery planning and service rebuilding.
- Strong facilitation skills to effectively manage discussions with SMEs.
- Ability to communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Broad experience with infrastructure technologies, including VMware/vCenter, Oracle, and Linux.
- Excellent technical writing skills and ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Familiarity with Cohesity, NetBackup, or Oracle RMAN is a plus.
- Experience in broadcast, telecommunications, or media sectors is advantageous.
