Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Architect to lead the technical design and delivery of an innovative AWS-based platform for a global media and entertainment organisation. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with post-production and solutions architects to transform the production environment into a modern, scalable cloud ecosystem. Your focus will be on creating high-performing, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructures that meet complex media requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end AWS platform architecture and technical design.
- Design AWS storage, compute, networking, identity, security and operational models.
- Architect remote access solutions using technologies such as Amazon DCV or Teradici.
- Create cloud-based editing environments with VDI and GPU-accelerated workstations.
- Assess network performance and latency for different connectivity options.
- Implement strong IAM, security, and multi-tenancy controls.
- Drive cost optimisation and FinOps practices from day one.
- Produce architecture documentation and contribute to the future platform rollout business case.
Requirements
- 5+ years' hands-on experience in AWS Solutions Architecture or Cloud Platform Engineering.
- Strong expertise in AWS networking, including VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
- Experience designing VDI and remote desktop environments.
- Proficiency with technologies such as Amazon DCV, Teradici, or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of AWS IAM best practices and cost optimisation strategies.
- Understanding of multi-tenancy and logical isolation in cloud environments.
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Media & Entertainment or managing high-throughput storage workflows is a plus.
