Overview
We are seeking a skilled Synon Analyst Programmer for a 6-month contract, offering the potential for extension. The contractor will work within a small team focused on a significant AS400 modernization program, collaborating closely with team members during the development lifecycle. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in CA 2E and iSeries/OS400 who is prepared to provide technical consultancy and support for both existing and transitioning systems.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement bug fixes within existing AS400 applications.
- Design and develop software solutions based on business requirements and user feedback.
- Develop integration functions between AS400 and external applications as part of the modernization program.
- Provide production monitoring and technical support, resolving issues identified through automated monitoring or reported by system users.
- Collaborate with team members across the full development lifecycle, including design, coding, code reviews, and testing.
- Create and maintain Jira tickets, ensuring progress is accurately recorded.
- Carry out code reviews to maintain high standards of development quality.
- Maintain accurate and relevant technical documentation.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with CA 2E (formerly Synon/2).
- Extensive experience with SynonCM/change management.
- Strong knowledge of iSeries/OS400.
- Strong software testing experience.
- Proven experience working as an Analyst/Programmer.
- Experience with RouteOne is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
