Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Architect for a contract role focused on leading migration projects from legacy platforms to modern cloud architectures. The contractor will work with a range of high-profile public and private sector clients, developing technical strategies for large-scale transformations. This position requires experience in consultancy environments and strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at various levels.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement architectures across diverse cloud-native stacks.
- Lead complex migration projects from legacy on-premises architectures to modern cloud solutions.
- Apply lakehouse architectures, focusing on cost optimization through strategic data management.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and non-technical teams.
- Identify and implement technical solutions to address specific business challenges.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Development teams to achieve project goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Architect within consultancy environments or enterprise contracts.
- Deep understanding of Data Lakes, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and Modern Data Warehousing concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services like Redshift Spectrum, S3, and Glue.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with Security and Data Governance teams.
- Ability to explain complex architectural concepts to C-suite stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data governance, legal requirements, and data security standards.
- Familiarity with containerization and cloud security practices.
