Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee complex infrastructure and application migration initiatives within a Financial Services organization on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple technical workstreams while collaborating with senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery. This hybrid role combines remote work with on-site responsibilities, focusing on leading significant technology projects in an enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end infrastructure and application migration projects from planning through to implementation.
- Manage complex migration activities, including application discovery, dependency mapping, and rehosting.
- Coordinate technical workstreams across Infrastructure, Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Manage project governance, including RAID, milestones, budgets, and reporting.
- Oversee third-party suppliers and technology partners involved in project delivery.
- Plan and execute production cutovers with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Ensure operational readiness and successful transition into business as usual (BAU).
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and program leadership regarding project progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in complex infrastructure and technology projects.
- Solid background in infrastructure transformation and migration initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale application migration programs.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware/vSphere, as well as NSX, vSAN, and Citrix.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience in managing datacentre migrations and production cutovers in 24x7 environments.
- Excellent stakeholder and supplier management capabilities.
- Background in Financial Services, Banking, or Insurance is essential.
