Overview
The Senior Logistics WMS Project Manager will join a dynamic logistics operation on a 6-month contract to drive the successful delivery of multiple warehouse management system (WMS) and operational change projects. Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, the contractor will leverage their extensive logistics and warehouse experience to ensure that projects are effectively implemented and transitioned into business-as-usual operations, including the setup of new automated warehouses and customer implementations across various sites in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead the logistics and operational delivery of multiple WMS and warehouse projects.
- Manage new customer implementations, warehouse setups, and WMS deployments.
- Collaborate closely with 3PL operations, warehouse teams, customers, and technology partners.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement in operational plans.
- Manage project milestones, resources, issues, risks, and dependencies.
- Present project updates clearly to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with customers and manage expectations effectively.
- Coordinate activities across operational, commercial, technical, and customer-facing teams.
Requirements
- Strong experience in 3PL, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Proven track record in delivering WMS or warehouse implementation projects.
- Practical understanding of warehouse processes, systems, and operational change.
- Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
- Exceptional customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Capable of presenting complex information clearly and challenging assumptions when necessary.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK as required.
