Technical Project Manager

Overview

This role for a Technical Project Manager focuses on leading Agile delivery for complex technology programmes within the financial sector, ensuring alignment with business objectives and effective stakeholder engagement. The successful contractor will work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders to drive project success while upholding governance protocols. The position is suitable for individuals with a strong background in technology project management, particularly in financial environments, and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technology programmes across multiple teams.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, milestones, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, and Business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and cross-team planning sessions.
  • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely mitigation and visibility to executives.
  • Coordinate release planning and post-release support activities.
  • Monitor programme metrics to enhance delivery performance and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with technology governance and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale technology programmes in complex environments.
  • Minimum of five years in Technology Programme or Project Management.
  • Extensive experience in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SAFe.
  • Demonstrated experience with integrated project and release planning, including operational readiness.
  • Strong RAID management skills with experience in risk and issue management.
  • Technical understanding of software development lifecycles and systems integration.
  • Experience with Jira, Rally, and Confluence or similar Agile tools.
  • Relevant project management certifications such as Scrum Master (CSM/PSM), SAFe, or PMP are advantageous.
