Overview
The Senior AWS Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and managing the infrastructure for a new application platform within a growing technology business. Collaborating closely with both junior and senior engineers, the contractor will implement robust cloud architecture leveraging AWS services, particularly Kubernetes and Terraform, while also ensuring best practices in security and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AWS infrastructure and cloud architecture.
- Develop and manage Kubernetes environments and AWS EKS clusters.
- Configure and maintain Kafka infrastructure using AWS MSK.
- Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code practices.
- Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ensure deployment efficiency.
- Implement security measures involving IAM, SSO and AWS security protocols.
- Set up observability and monitoring frameworks to manage incidents effectively.
- Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to enhance the platform's capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing production AWS EKS environments.
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes and its operational management.
- Hands-on skills in Terraform for infrastructure deployment.
- Familiarity with Kafka and AWS MSK infrastructure.
- Experience with ArgoCD, GitOps practices, and CI/CD automation.
- Solid understanding of IAM, SSO and AWS security principles.
- Background in observability tools and incident management strategies.
- Exposure to Java/application development is a plus; experience in AdTech is desirable.
