Overview
The IT Engagement Project Lead will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of IT projects within a global remit, ensuring they meet business requirements, timelines, and budgets. The contractor will collaborate with both internal teams and external partners, directing resources throughout the project lifecycle, from scoping to implementation. This hybrid role allows flexibility in onsite presence in Scotland and is expected to last approximately 3-6 months, pending confirmation.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage project teams composed of internal staff and third parties.
- Own IT project delivery against agreed benefits, schedules, and budgets, including scope management.
- Evaluate solutions and technical options, applying business analysis techniques for requirement definition.
- Oversee configuration, commissioning, validation, and acceptance of IT solutions.
- Facilitate implementation and support change management within the business.
- Maintain project plans and progress reports according to PMO standards.
- Manage project handover to Service Delivery and lead post-implementation reviews.
- Provide input to IT Steering Committees on project prioritization and delivery.
Requirements
- Proven project management experience, ideally with global exposure in IT projects.
- Strong knowledge of Agile tools and practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, Kanban, Scrum).
- Experience delivering projects in secure cloud environments (preferably Azure or AWS).
- Business analysis background with strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Familiarity with data governance and analytics; PowerBI experience is desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Understanding of change management and performance management standards.
- Project management and ITIL qualifications preferred; degree-level education or equivalent experience is beneficial.
