Overview
The Lab of the Future Project Manager will spearhead a major laboratory transformation initiative for a leading global pharmaceutical and life sciences organization. This role requires a highly autonomous individual who will assess the current laboratory environment, define a future-state roadmap, and drive the implementation process while collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a Lab of the Future / laboratory modernisation programme.
- Conduct an as-is assessment of the existing laboratory environment, processes, and technologies.
- Gather requirements from scientists, project stakeholders, influencers, and budget owners.
- Define the future-state laboratory environment and transformation roadmap.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, and planning.
- Evaluate laboratory technologies, platforms, and potential vendors.
- Coordinate suppliers through installation and implementation.
- Own risks, issues, and delivery challenges.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within laboratory environments.
- Strong background in Lab of the Future / laboratory transformation programmes.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or wider life sciences sectors.
- Expertise in brownfield laboratory upgrades or retrofits.
- Familiarity with laboratory technology implementation and vendor evaluation.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and requirements.
- Skilled in budgeting and forecasting in project delivery.
- Comfortable operating independently and navigating ambiguity.
