Lead Auditor

Overview

The Lead Auditor will undertake project-based work primarily across the North of the UK and Ireland, focusing on third-party certification and surveillance audits in areas such as ISO 41001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001. This role is ideal for a contractor looking to expand their portfolio with a prestigious global organization while managing various audit projects. The Lead Auditor will collaborate with clients to ensure compliance and quality standards are met throughout the audit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Lead Auditor, visiting various sites across the UK & Ireland as required.
  • Undertake third-party certification/surveillance audits including ISO 41001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
  • Conduct pre-audit visits and gap analysis.
  • Prepare audit plans, write reports, perform follow-ups, and provide certification recommendations.
  • Ensure audit reports, finding evidence, and auditor notes are submitted appropriately.
  • Manage client non-conformities, reviewing and analyzing client responses.
  • Address requests during the technical review of files.
  • Maintain up-to-date records related to audit and certification activities.

Requirements

  • HND/Degree or similar in a relevant discipline.
  • Practitioner Member of CQI (Chartered Quality Institute) or similar.
  • IRCA registered Auditor (International Register of Certificated Auditors).
  • 2-3 years of Lead Audit experience, with a minimum of 2 years in external Lead Audit roles.
  • Auditing experience within the Nuclear Supply Chain is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 41001, and ideally ISO 27001 quality management systems.
  • Experience in assisting & organizing audit teams is beneficial.
  • Client/stakeholder management experience with confident communication & presentation skills.
