Overview
The Lead Full Stack Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of a new platform for a fast-scaling business. This fully remote position is ideal for someone with a proven record in leading full stack builds, particularly in greenfield projects. The contractor will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, influencing architectural decisions and mentoring engineers throughout the development process. The goal is to construct a robust technological foundation from the ground up, free from legacy constraints.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of a new platform from first principles.
- Make critical decisions on architecture, tooling, and engineering standards.
- Develop across the full stack using modern frontend frameworks and robust API layers.
- Mentor and set technical standards for incoming engineers as the project evolves.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to influence decisions and direction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading full stack builds, ideally including greenfield projects.
- Strong commercial experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript (e.g., React/Next.js, Node.js).
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to own and justify architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working Outside IR35 and managing operations via a Ltd company.
- Self-directed, with a low-ego, high-output work approach.
