This is a long-term opportunity for a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Solidworks to provide essential support in the transition of projects into production. Working within an experienced design team for a reputable high-tech electronics company, you will engage in various design tasks and collaborate closely with other professionals to ensure project success. Flexibility for hybrid working arrangements allows for a blend of remote and office-based work.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D designs using Solidworks for new products.
- Conduct CFD and thermal analysis to validate design specifications.
- Collaborate with the design team on project requirements and challenges.
- Apply engineering principles in the design of ruggedized enclosures for electronics.
- Ensure compliance with standards applicable to regulated industries.
- Assist in the transition of prototypes to full production.
Requirements
- Proficient in Solidworks for 3D design.
- Strong understanding of CFD and thermal analysis principles.
- Experience in highly regulated industries, preferably aerospace or defence.
- Background in designing ruggedized enclosures using various materials.
- Familiarity with Vita standards is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Possession of BPSS security clearance or willingness to obtain it.
