Mechanical Works Supervisor

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Works Supervisor to oversee mechanical construction activities on a significant Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project. The role involves close collaboration with construction, commissioning, engineering, and contractor teams to ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and schedules. This position is vital for maintaining the quality and integrity of the project throughout its execution phases.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise mechanical construction activities, including structural erection, equipment installation, piping fabrication, installation, and testing.
  • Verify all mechanical works are executed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable international standards.
  • Ensure materials used on site comply with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor construction progress against project schedules and identify potential delays and recovery actions.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and practical solutions to site issues.
  • Validate completed work quantities and construction progress.
  • Ensure punch list items are identified, tracked, and closed out appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records of manpower, site activities, and construction progress.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience within the Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, or Industrial sectors.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a Mechanical Works Supervisor or Construction Supervision role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, piping systems, static equipment, vessels, and rotating equipment.
  • Experience supervising construction activities on major industrial or energy projects.
  • Understanding of mechanical completion, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, inspection requirements, and construction quality standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with completion management systems is advantageous.
