Overview
The MiFIR Transactions and Trade Reporting Specialist will play a crucial role in leading a reporting remediation project for a fintech client, addressing identified gaps in MiFIR transaction reporting. The contractor will collaborate closely with data and engineering teams while engaging stakeholders from Compliance, Legal, and Operations to ensure the proper implementation of remediation strategies. This hands-on role requires expertise in both UK and EU MiFIR reporting requirements and involves direct problem-solving and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose the root causes of identified reporting gaps across relevant financial instruments.
- Design and implement the remediation approach, including back-reporting and necessary corrections.
- Review transaction reporting logic in light of MiFIR requirements, focusing on RTS 22 field-level requirements.
- Collaborate with data and engineering teams to address underlying data quality and mapping issues.
- Document the remediation process for audit and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with Compliance, Legal, and Operations stakeholders as required.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with MiFIR transaction and trade reporting, particularly RTS 22 and RTS 23.
- Familiarity with both UK MiFIR and EU MiFIR reporting frameworks, including their differences.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant financial instruments such as bonds, commercial paper, and swaps.
- Experience in reporting remediation processes or back-reporting exercises relevant to regulatory standards.
- Ability to work with data using SQL or similar tools, identifying patterns and root causes in reporting datasets.
- Understanding of reporting fields, ISINs/UPIs, LEIs, and reference data in relation to transaction reporting.
- Availability for an immediate start due to the urgency of the role.
