Overview
We are seeking a Mobile App Developer to lead the development of a client-facing mobile application that integrates with backend services featuring AI capabilities. This fully remote role requires collaboration with backend developers and stakeholders to create a dependable and user-friendly mobile experience, utilizing your expertise in both native and cross-platform development methodologies. You will be responsible for all phases of development, from gathering requirements to implementing features that optimize user interaction, while ensuring security protocols are strictly adhered to.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the mobile application for the agreed platform scope, contributing to decisions about the native or cross-platform implementation.
- Translate user journeys, designs, and business requirements into clear, accessible mobile experiences, integrating the application with backend APIs.
- Implement authentication, session management, secure storage, and appropriate user access behavior.
- Present AI-generated information and workflow results in a way that aids user understanding of their tasks, including clear loading, progress, error, and review states.
- Keep sensitive credentials and business logic within the approved backend architecture.
- Address unreliable connectivity, interrupted requests, retries, and data synchronization while implementing device features such as notifications or file handling.
- Test supported devices and operating system versions, resolve usability, security, and performance issues, and prepare builds and signing.
- Maintain useful documentation, support handover, and investigate issues identified after launch.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience delivering mobile applications utilized by actual users and proficiency in relevant technologies such as React Native, Flutter, Swift, or Kotlin.
- Practical experience integrating REST APIs, exchanging and validating structured JSON data, and designing interfaces that adapt to various screen sizes and device capabilities.
- Understand mobile authentication, permissions, secure local storage, and application lifecycle behavior.
- Experience in testing and debugging applications, investigating crashes, addressing performance issues, and using version control.
- Familiarity with repeatable build and release processes and ability to communicate effectively with technical colleagues and client stakeholders.
- Experience in publishing applications or managing app store releases is desirable.
- Knowledge of integrating with AI services or workflow platforms, implementing push notifications, offline functionality, and applying mobile accessibility practices or automated device testing.
