Overview
The Senior Java Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing the core trading infrastructure for a new challenger in the prediction markets space. Working fully remotely, this engineer will collaborate with a highly technical team to build high-performance components such as the matching engine and trading gateways. This position offers the opportunity to influence architectural and engineering decisions in a greenfield project backed by significant private investment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement core trading infrastructure components.
- Develop and optimize low-latency, high-throughput systems.
- Ensure reliable processing of trades through trade systems and ledgers.
- Contribute to architectural and engineering decision-making processes.
- Profile and optimize performance-critical applications.
- Collaborate with team members on best practices and system improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focusing on Java and Kotlin.
- Strong background in building low-latency, event-driven systems.
- Deep understanding of JVM performance and memory management.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/UDP.
- Experience with APIs and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in performance profiling and optimization techniques.
- Experience with technologies such as Aeron, SBE, or LMAX Disruptor is a plus.
- Background in high-frequency trading or related financial technology is advantageous.
