Overview
The Network Test Engineer will play a key role in delivering high-quality network testing services for a major client. Working in a hybrid capacity with mandatory attendance at the Newbury location and occasional customer site visits, the contractor will collaborate with various teams to ensure robust network performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct network performance testing using tools such as iPerf, Spirent, and IxNetwork.
- Validate and troubleshoot SD-WAN configurations and connectivity issues.
- Execute LAN/WAN testing and ensure compliance with testing standards.
- Apply knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, BGP, and OSPF in testing scenarios.
- Coordinate customer site visits as needed for testing activities.
- Document and report test results and findings to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience in network testing, particularly with SD-WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with SIP and VoIP technologies.
- Hands-on experience with data center testing and network connectivity tests.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, BGP, OSPF.
- Experience with network performance testing tools like iPerf, Spirent, or IxNetwork.
- Possession of SC clearance or eligibility for clearance is required.
