Overview
The OT Security Architect will lead the security architecture direction for a nominated comparator plant, focusing on the discovery phase of OT security tooling and configuration. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in operational technology (OT) security, where the architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop clear and actionable architectural recommendations and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery at a comparator plant to assess OT security architecture and tooling.
- Own and document the capability and control map with clear rationale.
- Identify and validate regulatory and environmental constraints, maintaining a divergence register.
- Develop the minimum viable product (MVP) security architecture recommendation including patterns and design decisions.
- Define a sequenced delivery roadmap and acceptance criteria for the implementation phase.
- Collaborate with engineering and technology stakeholders to ensure architecture practicality.
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation for diverse audiences.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience in OT/ICS security architecture for industrial environments.
- Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-82 and the Purdue Model for OT architectures.
- Strong understanding of IEC 62443, including zone and conduit modelling.
- Experience in developing architecture artefacts like capability maps and divergence registers.
- Proven ability to assess regulatory and environmental constraints.
- Strong skills in High-Level Design (HLD) documentation.
- Experience working with OEMs in complex OT environments.
- Ability to effectively engage stakeholders and communicate technical requirements clearly.
