Overview
As a Contract Senior AWS Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a brand-new AWS platform for a leading online education provider as part of a major transformation programme. You will work alongside an experienced cloud engineering team to design and build a secure AWS Landing Zone while implementing robust infrastructure and governance frameworks. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to a business-critical project with potential for further cloud modernisation work.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a secure AWS Landing Zone.
- Build and configure multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Refactor and migrate existing Terraform repositories.
- Implement governance, security guardrails, and Service Control Policies (SCPs).
- Design AWS networking, including VPCs, routing, and security groups.
- Configure IAM Identity Center, Permission Sets, and role-based access controls.
- Integrate GitHub with AWS deployments and build CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an AWS Platform Engineer, with a focus on building secure cloud foundations.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, including AWS Landing Zones, AWS Organizations, and AWS IAM Identity Center.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically using Terraform.
- Experience configuring AWS security services, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.
- Familiarity with GitHub administration and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Knowledge of networking principles, including VPC and DNS management.
- Experience with multi-account AWS environments and governance best practices.
- Experience with SaaS integrations and API authentication.
