Overview
The Senior Platform Engineer will focus on the technical design and implementation of cloud-based media workflows, specifically in the area of Cloud NAS integration and media ingest pipelines. This role involves working alongside a small engineering team and collaborating with external partners to resolve architectural challenges while leveraging strong Cloud DevOps practices. The contractor will be responsible for mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality software development practices are upheld.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of cloud-based media platform components, including storage, video ingest, and workflow services.
- Deploy and manage scalable cloud infrastructure aligned with enterprise technology standards.
- Design automation, scripting, and API integrations to streamline media processing and operational workflows.
- Mentor engineering team members, promoting high-quality software development and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient releases.
- Collaborate with external technology partners to resolve integration and architectural challenges.
Requirements
- Strong experience in platform, cloud, or backend software engineering, specifically with cloud-based media platform components.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, including Python, Go, or Node.js for automation and API development.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS (preferred) or GCP and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with digital asset management, cloud storage, or media ingestion platforms.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery practices and test-driven development (TDD).
