Overview
We are looking for an experienced Principal Product Designer to join a well-funded consumer subscription business for a 6-month contract. This fully remote role will involve leading the design process across the company's native app and digital product ecosystem, working closely with product and engineering leadership to establish a cohesive design direction, enhance design maturity, and improve user engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for native mobile applications and web/SaaS product surfaces.
- Define information architecture and navigation for a fragmented product ecosystem.
- Build and maintain a design system, ensuring it remains functional and relevant.
- Align design decisions with commercial outcomes such as conversion and retention.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams on roadmap and project sequencing.
- Enhance team design skills through coaching, critique, and hands-on guidance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading mobile and web product design.
- Strong understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design principles.
- Experience in building and maturing design systems with appropriate documentation.
- Ability to connect design decisions to business metrics and outcomes.
- Experience in scaling design practices within a growing consumer-focused business.
- Excellent collaboration skills with product and engineering teams.
