Overview
As a Programme Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in implementing an automation-first test strategy within a small, agile test team. Working closely with the Programme Test Lead and various stakeholders, your focus will be on enhancing test coverage through both Playwright automation and manual testing. This hybrid contractual position allows for a flexible work arrangement, combining hands-on technical responsibility with collaborative engagement across the business.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated test scripts in Playwright.
- Carry out manual testing to identify edge cases and potential issues.
- Collaborate with Programme Managers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to develop test scenarios and UAT scripts.
- Document test outputs clearly and maintain a central testing knowledge base.
- Work with the Programme Test team to ensure quality in testing output.
- Implement automation-first strategies to enhance overall testing coverage.
- Engage with end users to refine testing processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automation Tester with a focus on unit and functional tests.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, particularly GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies and the SDLC.
- Strong attention to detail along with effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
