Overview
This role is for a Senior Python Developer involved in the development of AI-enabled applications for a prominent financial services organization. The contractor will utilize their hands-on engineering skills to create production-grade software, integrating AI and machine learning technologies to enhance trading decision-making for front-office teams. This position entails collaboration with business stakeholders and working through the entire software lifecycle from design to production support, focusing on delivering robust and maintainable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build production-grade applications in Python.
- Develop and integrate AI and machine learning capabilities.
- Work with LLMs, agentic AI, and recommendation systems.
- Build clean, testable, and maintainable software.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
- Ensure AI solutions are properly tested, evaluated, and controlled before deployment.
- Support applications through the full lifecycle from development to production.
Requirements
- Strong commercial Python engineering experience.
- Excellent software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience building and supporting production systems.
- Good understanding of testing, clean code, and software design.
- Commercial AI/ML experience or hands-on exposure to modern AI technologies.
- Comfortable working with LLMs and AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience within financial services or another regulated environment is beneficial.
