Overview
We are looking for a skilled Python/Django Software Engineer to contribute to the development of secure digital services for a significant central government project. In this primarily remote role, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with public sector standards while developing and maintaining web applications and APIs. The position involves minimal on-site engagement, offering flexibility and an opportunity to deliver impactful digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications and APIs using Python and Django frameworks.
- Deploy and manage services on AWS, ensuring a robust application infrastructure.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain engineering quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to achieve project goals.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automate testing processes for enhanced efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, especially in government contexts.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Python and Django development.
- Proven experience in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
- Must possess security clearance (SC) due to the sensitive nature of projects.
- Experience working within public sector or government standards is highly desirable.
