Overview
We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to contribute to a high-profile digital transformation project. This role will involve designing, developing, and enhancing cloud-based applications, focusing on backend and middleware services using Python. The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse agile team, engaging in the full software development lifecycle while ensuring the delivery of effective and scalable software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain robust Python applications and services within a modern cloud environment.
- Develop backend and middleware components including business logic, integrations and RESTful APIs.
- Support the integration of front-end applications with backend services to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable and reusable software solutions.
- Design and implement secure, high-performing APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Develop solutions that interact with databases, third-party services and internal business systems.
- Build, deploy and support application components within AWS environments.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, documentation and best practices.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience developing production-grade applications using Python.
- Strong background building web applications, backend services and middleware solutions.
- Experience designing and developing secure REST APIs, including authentication and error handling.
- Strong understanding of multi-tier application architecture and application design principles.
- Experience integrating user interfaces with backend services and APIs.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles including object-oriented design and application security.
- Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
- Ability to take ownership of complex technical components from design through development, testing and deployment.
