Overview
We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join a dedicated engineering team focused on a significant transformation programme. The contractor will work remotely from anywhere in the UK, contributing to building a quality-first engineering culture and ensuring the delivery of reliable software through testing. This role involves collaborating with developers and other stakeholders to advance quality assurance processes and best practices in a modern SaaS environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive quality across products and features from planning through to release.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications and APIs.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, stress, and accessibility testing.
- Work closely with developers to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Identify risks early and ensure high-quality software is delivered at pace.
- Support the evolution of QA processes, standards, and best practices.
- Measure quality through meaningful metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Engineering.
- Experience testing modern web applications and REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with test planning, design, execution, and automation.
- Experience with performance, stress, and regression testing.
- Knowledge of industry-standard test automation frameworks and tools.
- Experience with both black-box and white-box testing.
- Understanding of accessibility testing and security testing practices.
- Experience using Azure DevOps, including Test Plans.
