Security Assurance Architect

Overview

As a Security Assurance Architect specializing in Azure Cloud environments, you will focus on ensuring the compliance of cloud infrastructure with financial services regulations for a new B2B banking initiative. Collaborating closely with a small team of security engineers and analysts, you will review and interpret regulatory requirements, providing clear assessments and documentation that reflect the security posture of the Azure platform. This contract position is ideal for an experienced architect who thrives on working independently and can effectively communicate technical findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regulatory interpretation and communicate implications for Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Assess and ensure compliance with various financial services regulations.
  • Develop architecture and data-flow diagrams suitable for audit purposes.
  • Perform threat modeling and attack surface analysis, documenting findings.
  • Maintain evidence trackers and large audit documentation sets for regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate existing control measures and report on their effectiveness to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in security or enterprise architecture experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Azure cloud architecture and security.
  • Experience with financial services regulations from any jurisdiction (e.g., US, UK, EU).
  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar compliance standards.
  • Ability to produce clear documentation for regulatory purposes.
  • Experience in threat modeling and control assurance practices.
