Overview
We are looking for a skilled Ruby On Rails Software Engineer with experience in Python and a bonus if familiar with React. This fully remote role focuses on leading projects within a small team, emphasizing excellent software engineering principles while collaborating across multiple projects and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small team to deliver on time-critical projects and meet customer requirements.
- Design outputs to ensure simplicity, maintainability, and scalability.
- Take ownership of large, complex projects and ensure high code quality.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders across various projects.
- Drive engineering efforts that enhance the codebase for multiple teams.
- Produce technical documentation related to system architecture and APIs.
- Monitor performance and ensure the reliability of systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development.
- Proficient in Ruby on Rails and Python, with significant experience in React.
- Experience with strongly typed languages such as Java, Rust, or C#.
- Strong skills in database design and optimization (Postgres, MySQL, Redis).
- Ability to produce technical design documentation, including API contracts.
- Experience in code reviews and ensuring code quality standards are met.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and observability tools.
