Salesforce Core Tech Lead

Overview

The Salesforce Core Tech Lead will be responsible for defining and owning the technical direction of our Salesforce Core platform, including Service Cloud, OMS, and Experience Cloud. This hands-on leadership role involves setting architectural standards, overseeing code quality, and providing day-to-day leadership for two mid-level Salesforce engineers. The lead will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including Commerce Cloud leads, QA, DevOps, and business units across North America and EMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical architecture for the Salesforce Core platform, defining object models and integration patterns.
  • Design end-to-end solutions for Service Cloud and OMS.
  • Perform code and configuration reviews for all Core changes and approve pull requests.
  • Write production code in Apex, LWC, and Flow, allocating 40-50% of time hands-on.
  • Own the release process and CI/CD for the Core platform.
  • Lead root cause analysis on production incidents and drive resolution.
  • Mentor and manage technical growth for two mid-level engineers.
  • Participate in sprint planning and collaborate with the Product Owner on backlog refinement.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Salesforce development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or architect role.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Service Cloud, including case routing and Omni-Channel.
  • Expertise in Apex, LWC, Flow, and the ability to identify optimal solutions.
  • Strong integration experience with REST, SOAP, and middleware like MuleSoft.
  • Proven skills in managing Salesforce release pipelines and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience in performing quality code reviews and mentoring engineers.
  • Ability to work across US and UK time zones with distributed teams.
  • (Optional) Familiarity with Salesforce OMS, change management in SOX environments, and eCommerce backgrounds.
